Homemade cleaning products are awesome – we’ve been trying out a few of our own for nearly all of this year.
You can find the recipes for our homemade peppermint kitchen spray and lavender liquid laundry detergent here. It really couldn’t be easier.
It might feel a bit old school – but you know exactly what goes in it and pay pennies to make it.
The best part of all? If you skip doing laundry for a few days and realize you have run out of clean clothing AND laundry detergent at the very same time, there’s no need to panic.
Less than 5 minutes and you’re set in the laundry suds department. And you get to use Dr. Bronner’s soap and all that peppermint essential oil you may or may not totally be hoarding.
My other go-to laundry cleaner choice are the totally awesome soap nuts from LaundryTree. They are all natural nuts that naturally foam / soap up and clean / soften your clothing. Just as Mother Nature intended.
For laundry softener we add some vinegar to our wash loads and use big wool dryer balls to reduce static and lower drying time.
It’s good to smell like a breath mint once in a while… and to rely on using what you make with your own hands more often than not.
