Visualizing dirty diapers

I'm suddenly feeling a whole lot less geeky after reading a recent Information Aesthetics on baby data visualization.  Okay, not really - but man, even I never thought to come up with this stuff.  Brilliant!

Trixie Tracker is a Web app that lets parents track diaper changes, sleeping/nap patterns, pumping activity and other really useful info tidbits.

...Some of the data visualizations include a "sleep probability distribution chart" line-plot, an "awake, transition & asleep time period" chart, a "visual diapers" sparkline graph & a comparative "1 year ago" feature.

Mommy - best buffet this side of the Mississippi

Last week we made a tough decision to start supplementing Ella's diet with some formula.  The stress and worries of falling behind on milk production during the work week was really getting to me, so this has proved a good move for the whole familia.

Beyond an interesting explosive diaper experience, Ella seems to be adjusting well to the new item on her menu list - in addition to all the good veggies and fruits she's been exploring lately.  My goal is to be back on track by next week, but it does offer some relative peace of mind.  A Plan B.

I am so proud of mommies who breastfeed their babies - especially those that work full-time.  It's such a huge job, but so much more rewarding than I ever could have imagined.  You go girls!
