Discount Puppets - November 8, 2004

Just stumbled across a crazy frickin’ discount Dillard’s store, not 3 minutes from my office.  Row after row of great work clothes, comfy clothes and killer shoes for 75% off.  It was a very enjoyable lunchbreak-shopping session (and I only spent $5 thank you very much).  It would’ve been even more enjoyable had the evil sales clerk sold me the tagless DKNY skirt I wanted so badly.  Evil.

This stencil website is way cool.  There’s a nice tutorial section for those of you who, like me, really have no idea what you’re doing.  I’m working on an Elvis C. and a boombox stencil right now.  My goal is to create mini-stencils and laminate them to use in random places with a metallic red paint pen.  Good times.

Nick’s puppet show was hella’ cool this weekend (look for a new puppet photo album soon on this page).  My head was pounding far too much to stay for the main act, the Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players.  This I regret very much.

I did last through Andrew Katz’s performance however and he was super swell.  I’m digging this whole ‘urban hillbilly rock-a-blues’ genre lately.  That’s what I call it at least….  whatever Jack White-ish music is.  Anyhoo, it’s cool when gangly boys sing about their mammas and their baby-honey’s and know how to scream to their guitar chords.

Polyester cowboy get-up is always nice as well.
