I missed Ella’s Kindergarten Picnic a couple of weekends ago while I was in Maui, but the family made it without me and had a blast.
Beyond stories of playing ninja warrior in the woods, having an impromptu class wide dance party after dinner and eating lots of great food (and Mexican s’mores), I heard about this super cool RV trailer that one of the kiddo’s Dads built and was giving tours for.
The company is called Cricket Trailer and boy are their RVs rad. The owner / Ella’s classmate’s Dad is a NASA consultant working on astronauts’ living / working quarters (space architecture!), pair that with a love for camping and travel and you’ve got a perfect concoction for portable vacation housing awesomeness.
Lately I’ve been getting pretty obsessed with down sizing again (or right sizing?), the idea of shedding the majority of your physical belongings and setting up house in a tiny setting sounds amazing. Imagine a 38 foot fifth wheel that looked like these guys?
The inside is a a perfect little camping space, but with less annoying poles and flaps to blow up during Marfa sandstorms.
