Music is wonderful Uncategorized - September 20, 2004

ACL was grand – although it didn’t go as planned at all. Not to say it wasn’t fantabulous, because it was, but it just went differently than expected.

We missed Neko, for one, and also missed my lovely dance-sational Franz Ferdinand. Woe.

Being the random kids that we are, we last minutely decided to hit 6th Street on Friday night instead of catching the end of the day’s festival. We ate mediocre TexMex, drank and drank, and drank, and listened to some great music, drank, wandered, Lomo-ed, drank, foosballed (sp?) and drank.

In between some of the drinking, we also laughed and gossiped about our (okay, my) favorite celebrities, made fun of sorority girls, gave bad directions to cute Scottish tourists and met some nice people from Arkansas. Oh – and we ate jello shots. And then we had more to drink. I did not, however, drink enough to do my Mr. Bean dancing impression which was a damn shame.

(((I had a bad hellacious hangover the next day))) Like, real bad.

But somehow the next day still rocked. We sat next to a bag of ice during the Modest Mouse show and that made everything (almost) better.

SUNDAY WAS AWESOME BECAUSE WE SAW ELVIS!!!! and he was as cute and troll-y rock and roll delicious as ever. We suffered 1.5 hours before to squeeze our way to the front o’ the pack and we got our socks rocked off in return.

Bless you Elvis Costello.

ACL was real cool, but we’re thinking sxsw might be better for us next year. We’ll keep you posted.

Keep an eye out for pics :)
