Video makes it better Web/Tech - December 7, 2006
Video video video. That’s what we’ve been talking about at work, that’s what I’ve been reading about and that’s what I’ve been watching. It has totally invaded my techie life (and potentially my home life as soon as I unpack my digital cameras to take some more mini-vids of the kiddo) and I really love it.
An interesting player in the online video world is TurnHere – a digital video company that helps newcomers on a budget get jump-started by shooting inexpensive low-key documentary-style videos for ads and promo pieces. They also help with video streaming and playerheads, so online distribution isn’t an issue for groups either.
I love this video about the Hollywood Dining in the Dark restaurant. The restaurant’s concept is incredibly unique (using a meal out as an experience to understand what it’s like to eat and interact with people without the use of your eyes). Ironic that a short video taken about a place cloaked in complete blackness could be so interesting, heh.

As video services go, my favorite is VideoJug. Specializes in how-to instructional videos… some more useful than others. http://www.videojug.com/
